Kwik Meal NYC operates as a straightforward halal restaurant nestled in the hustle of Times Square’s crowded streets at 100 W 45th St. This spot serves up no-frills, hearty fare aimed squarely at people looking for a quick, filling meal without the pretense, which fits perfectly with the fast pace of its Midtown Manhattan location.

Expect an unassuming, casual atmosphere where the focus is entirely on the food rather than ambiance or décor. It’s a convenient stop for office workers, tourists, and anyone passing through who needs a reliable, fast halal option. The menu leans heavily on classic street-food-style combos — chicken over rice is a consistent favorite, as well as various meat platters combining lamb, chicken, and shrimp. Their kati rolls, particularly the chicken and lamb versions, stand out as handheld, portable choices that work well for eating on the go or grabbing a quick bite while wandering the city.

The portions here skew toward generous, especially when opting for rice platters rather than salad bases, which some have found less satisfying. The lamb biryani is noted for its sizable, tender meat chunks rather than ground or gyro-style lamb, appealing to those who appreciate a more substantial protein hit without overcomplicating the dish. Spicy options like the chili chicken platter deliver a solid kick, making it a good spot for those seeking flavor with some heat.

Service tends to be friendly and efficient, matching the pace of its New York street-food peers. However, there is a local conversation around packaging — with some patrons wishing for alternatives to plastic containers to cut down on waste. Cleanliness and hygiene receive positive nods, something not always guaranteed in fast halal eateries of this scale.

Who will enjoy Kwik Meal NYC? Anyone in need of a quick, substantial meal with straightforward Middle Eastern and South Asian flavors will appreciate what this place offers. It’s especially suited to lunch breaks or casual dinners post-theater or sightseeing. Given its location, weekends and early dinners might be busier, but the energy reflects its Times Square surroundings rather than a sit-down restaurant vibe.

Best times to visit are lunch through early evening, when office crowds and neighborhood foot traffic create a steady flow but before the post-show rush. If you’re craving a lunch briskly served and packed with familiar halal street food staples that don’t sacrifice size for speed, Kwik Meal NYC delivers in a way that feels genuinely local to Midtown’s daily hustle.

This was my first time in New York, and I was excited to try the many places the city has to offer. Out of all the spots we visited during our five-night stay—including everything from hole-in-the-wall gems to high-end restaurants—this was my favorite meal. The owner made me a lamb pita, and although I’m usually not a fan of lamb, I have to say this was the best I’ve had in a long time. The pita was packed with flavor. The owner was incredibly welcoming and kind to us. I’m so glad I was able to get a picture with him. I know that when I return to New York, this will definitely be a must-visit spot for me.

Updated 10/6/25 got the chicken over salad this time and was quite disappointed with the portion size. It’s essentially the same small amount of lettuce that goes on a rice platter instead of getting more of it. Will stick with the rice platters if I order from here again. Great lamb biryani! They make it with lamb meat chunks, not ground lamb or gyro meat, and they don’t skimp either. For $12, you can’t beat it. Friendly guy working the cart too. Ordered pickup on uber eats. Awesome flavor and generous portion. This is like at least 2 meals. Thank you!

Very good , clean , hygienic food you can get around the area. Prices are nominal. The person making the food takes time to prepare the food to hit your taste buds. Unfortunately I forget to take pics but you have your images on other reviews. Don’t forget to try this guy.

Wow!!! I can’t wait to come back!! I got the lamb Kati roll. I heard this place has real authentic lamb and I was surprised to see the guy slab some fresh raw meat on the grill and cook it fresh for me after I ordered!! Usually the street carts have a ton of pre cooked meat waiting for customers. I was so impressed just by that but also the taste of the Kati roll was heavenly!! So good!! But next time I’m going to find a place to sit down and eat. It’s so hard to eat on the go! Very messy but he provided enough napkins so that’s good. Enjoy!

Excellent food and great service. On my first visit, I ordered a lamb kati roll ($6) and it was ready in about five minutes. In that time, I read all the newspaper images on the cart, so I was expecting something amazing — and that's what I got. The roll had seasoned, succulent, tender lamb and fresh vegetables in roti. The wrap was so full that it didn't stay closed, so I ended up eating it all with a fork. It was so good that I went back a few days later and got a lamb rice platter ($12). I was surprised the vendor remembered me because we didn't speak much on my first visit. Even though it was 3 a.m., he got me chatting. Between the friendliness and the food, I'm sure this place has lots of return customers. Anyway, the food — wonderful smells erupted when I opened the box. The meat was grilled but stayed tender and juicy. The sauce coated the vegetables but it was easy to mix it into the rice and lamb. It was phenomenal. This cart is great for lunch or dinner or to satisfy a late-night/early-morning craving.

Great alternative to Adel’s and definitely better than the Halal Guys. Both the guys in front of me and behind seem to be regulars so I guess the food here is quite popular. Order the lamb over rice and the portions are generously. The guy preparing the food is always friendly and happy and checks with you on how much sauce you want and if you like it spicy. Would definitely be back again.
